As Governors, we will work with parents and staff to ensure that every child will thrive during their time at Mevagissey School, in a happy and safe environment. We will support the school’s ambition to do the best for all our children, and we aim to provide a happy and safe environment, where everyone is valued. Through challenge, encouragement and support we promote the qualities of enthusiasm, curiosity, creativity, confidence and determination. Parents, staff and governors work together so that all our children have the best chance to develop to their full potential. Above all, we want the children to take pride in everything they achieve, and grow and learn with confidence.
We work in partnership with the Head teacher, Cornwall Education Learning Trust and the community of the school to provide the best possible education for children. We have three key roles:
1. We provide a strategic overview,
2. We act as a critical friend to the school
3. We ensure accountability.
